Award "I feel Slovenia": presentation at Expo Milano
Ljubljana, 17 April - At the Ljubljana Fashion Week the best Slovenian designers and country's brand "I feel Slovenia", the Government Communication Office of the Republic of Slovenia, caretaker of country's brand "I feel Slovenia", presented the uniforms of staff working at the Slovenian pavilion for six months at the Expo Milan 2015 exhibition (1 May - 31 October 2015).
Ljubljana Fashion Week and Slovenia's presentation at Expo Milano are connected in another way: the best student collection presented at Ljubljana Fashion Week was rewarded with a presentation of the collection in the Slovenian pavilion at Expo in Milan, which is the capital of fashion.
The commission was composed of seven members; part of the commission was also Nataša Bušljeta, M. Sc., head of department for promotion and communication projects at the Government Communication Office. The commission has reached the decision to reward the collection Future Now: The Future Overcomes Numbness, created by Maja Leskovšek. The collection is based on the distopic future world, experienced through the eyes of the main character, a girl named Ru. From her imaginary parallel world she transmits ideas of textures and visual sensations into her reality. She wears wide silhouettes, consisting of clothes of different textures and colors, which encourage the passers-by to feel again.
And how is the country's brand "I feel Slovenia" connected with fashion? "I feel Slovenia" is the mirror of who we are: diligent, creative, we exceed the boundaries and create new paths. "I feel Slovenia" supports Slovenian fashion designers and encourages them to best represent Slovenia. Government Communication Office decided to be an active partner of Ljubljana Fashion Week and to create a chance for students to present their ideas abroad.
